Statement of Beliefs

Sacred Assembly Church recognizes that it cannot, and does not desire to, bind the conscience of individuals in areas where Scripture is silent. Rather, each believer is to be lead in those areas by God, to whom he or she alone is ultimately responsible. We believe the Statement of Beliefs to be an accurate summary of what Scripture teaches.

THE BIBLE (THE INSPIRED SCRIPTURES)

We believe that the Bible is the Word of God and contains one harmonious and sufficiently complete system of doctrine. We believe in the full inspiration of the Word of God. We hold the Word of God to be the verbally inspired revelation of God to man, infallible, and the authoritative rule of faith and conduct.

  • 2 Timothy 3:15

  • 1 Thessalonians 2:13

  • 2 Peter 2:21

THE FATHER (ONE TRUE GOD)

We believe in God, the Father Almighty, the Author and Creator of all things. The One True God has revealed himself as the eternally self-existent “ I AM.” He has further revealed Himself as embodying the principles of relationship and associated as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.  Jesus gives God the distinction of “Fatherhood” to all believers when he explains God in the light of “Your Father in Heaven.”

  • Deuteronomy 6:4

  • Matthew 6:8-9

  • Isaiah 45:5-6

THE SON (DIETY OF CHRIST)

We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, the Second person in the Godhead of the Trinity or Triune Godhead. We believe that Jesus was and is eternal in his person and nature as the Son of God who was with God in the beginning of creation. We believe that Jesus Christ was born of a virgin called Mary according to the scriptures,

thus giving rise to our fundamental belief in the Virgin Birth. We also believe that Jesus lived a life without sin, preformed miracles, in His substitutionary work on the cross, in His bodily resurrection from the dead, and salvation can only come through his name.

  • 2 Corinthians 5:21

  • 1 Corinthians 15:4-5

  • Acts 4:12

THE HOLY SPIRIT

We believe the Holy Ghost or Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity, proceeds from the Father and the Son, is of the same substance, equal to power and glory, authority, and is together with the Father and the Son, to be believed in, obeyed, and worshipped. Therefore, neither person in the Godhead either exist nor work independently of the other. The Holy Spirit is a gift bestowed upon the believer for the purpose of equipping and empowering the believer, making him a more effective witness for service in the world. He teaches and guides one into all truth.

   * Acts 1:8

THE FALL OF MAN

We believe that God created man holy and upright. We believe that man was made in God’s image and likeness. However, man was deceived and voluntarily transgressed and fell, whereas incurred physical and spiritual death, which is separation from God. This is called “original sin.” Sin can now be defined as a volitional transgression against God and a lack of conformity to the will of God.

THE SALVATION OF MAN

Salvation is the restoration of man to the state of holiness from which he has fallen. The application of salvation is directly related to the redemptive work of Jesus Christ, which is brought about by the grace of God and repentance toward God, which brings conversion, regeneration, justification, faith, and a renewing of the Holy Spirit. All these characteristics are wrought in the heart according to the hope of receiving eternal life, which is God’s promise to all who put their trust in Christ redemptive work.

THE CHURCH ORDINANCES

HOLY COMMUNION

Holy Communion, as known as, The Lord’s Supper symbolizes the Lord’s suffering and death in regards to sharing bread and the fruit of the vine, which expresses a special spiritual union between the believer and the glorified Christ. It is also a memorial that represents the crucifixion of Christ and the prophesy of his second coming.

  • 1 Corinthians 11:23-26

WATER BAPTISM

We believe that Water Baptism is necessary as instructed by Christ. However, we do not believe that water baptism alone is a means of salvation, but is an outward demonstration that one has already had a conversion experience and has accepted Christ as his personal Savior. Thus they declare to the world that they have died with Christ and have been raised with Christ to walk in the newness of life. We also believe and practice immersion in preference to “SPRINKLING,” because immersion corresponds more closely to the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus.

  • Matthew 28:19

  • Mark 16:16

  • Acts 10:47-48

  • Romans 6:4

THE BAPTISM OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

We believe that the Baptism of the Holy Spirit is an experience subsequent to conversion and sanctification. All believers are entitled to this experience and should ardently expect and earnestly seek the promise of the Father, according to the command of the Lord Jesus. When one receives the baptism, the evidence of speaking in an unknown tongue should be manifested and accompanied by the fruit of the Spirit. With it comes the endowment of power for life and service, and the bestowment of spiritual gifts for the work of the ministry and to be an effective witness for Christ.

SANCTIFICATION

We believe that sanctification is the process that God uses to separate or set apart for the intended purpose that God desires. A believer is being sanctified, therefore, when he or she lives according to God’s design and purpose. Sanctification also means to be holy. The scriptures teach a life of holiness by the empowerment of the Holy Spirit. God has called every believer to live a holy life and come from among those that live contrary (live in sin) to his word. Sanctification is realized in the believer when he exercises a life of faith, and offer every faculty continually to the dominion of the Holy Spirit.

THE MISSION OF THE CHURCH

We believe that the church is a body of believers that professes their faith and shares their hopes in the gospel of Jesus Christ. The church is the habitation of God empowered by the Holy Spirit to fulfill the divine purpose of the Great Commission. It also is God’s agency for communicating the truth and spiritual blessings for evangelizing the world. The church is a people who demonstrate God’s love and compassion for the all the world, since God’s purpose is to seek and save that which is lost.

  • Acts 1:8

  • Ephesians 1:22-23

  • Ephesians 2:22

  • 1 Corinthians 12:28

  • James 1:27

DIVINE HEALING

We believe that divine healing is an integral part of the gospel. It was commanded by Jesus to his disciples to exercise their faith by the laying of hands on the sick and they should be healed. It was prophesied in the Old Testament that deliverance from sickness is provided through Christ’s atonement, and all believers have access to this privilege.

  • Isaiah 53:4-5

  • Matthew 8:16-17

  • Mark 16:17-18

  • James 5:14-16

MIRACLES (SIGNS AND WONDERS)

We believe that miracles are an event in the external world brought about by the immediate agency or the manifested volition of God, and designed to authenticate the divine commission of God’s servants and the truth of their message. Jesus and others sent by God appealed to miracles as a conclusive proof of their divine mission. Thus, being out of the common course of nature and beyond the power of man, they convey the impression of the power and presence of God at work.

  • John 5:20,36

  • Acts 2:22

THE SECOND COMING OF CHRIST (BLESSED HOPE)

We believe in the second coming of Christ; that He shall come from heaven to earth, personally, bodily, visibly and that the Church, the bride, will be caught up to meet Him in the air. This is the resurrection of those who have fallen asleep in Christ and their translation together with those who are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord. This is the imminent and blessed hope of the body of believers.

  • 1 Corinthians 15:51-52

  • 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17

THE MILLENNIAL REIGN OF CHRIST

We believe that the second coming of Christ, which includes the rapture (Harpozo) of the saints ushers in the one thousand year reign of Christ (Millennial Reign). We also believe that this will be a visible return of Christ with the saints to rule the earth for those one thousand years. The Millennial reign will bring the salvation of national Israel and establish universal peace among the nations.

THE FINAL JUDGMENT

We believe that there will be a final judgment in which the wicked dead will be raised for judgment according to their recorded works, which they have done through out their days of living. Anyone whose name is not found in the Book of Life will face the eternal punishment of Christ, which is also know as, “The Second Death.”

NEW HEAVEN AND NEW EARTH

We believe that those who have put their hope, trust, and faith in the Lord Jesus look for a new heaven and new earth wherein righteousness dwells. We believe that Christ has prepared a place for those who have lived a life of faith and walked according to the Spirit of Holiness.
